Session attended on Behavioural Finance organized by Reliance Nippon Life Asset Management Ltd.

Faculty of Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad, Dr. Shuchita Singh attended session on Behavioural Finance organized by Reliance Nippon Life Asset Management Ltd. on 20th February 2019. The trainer of the program was Mr. Nitin Raj Srivastava, expert in Behaioural Trainings at Reliance Nippon Life Asset Management Ltd.

Mr. Saxena delivered excellent content on the concepts of Behavioural Finance, focusing of major Cognitive and Emotional Biases. He further discussed the major bubbles taken place in financial markets and reaction of market to some major economic events like Sub Prime Crisis and NBFC Crisis.

Objective of the workshop was to equip Wealth Managers with the different thinking patterns of investors, which can not only enhance their selling skills but also help them to have a better Asset Management of their customers.

The session was very contemporary and enriching.

Students of PGDM 2018-20 Batch attended session on “Money Mantra” at PHDCCI

Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad organized visit of PGDM First Year students for a session on “Money Mantra” at the PHDCCI headquarters in August Kranti margi, New Delhi on 29th January 2019.

The session comprised of a panel discussion involving Mr. Muralithar Swaminathan, Director, BTVI, who was also the moderator; Mr. Kalpesh Ashar, Founder, Full Circle Financial Planners and Advisers; Mr. Sanjiv Bhasin, EVP Markets and Corporate Affairs, IIFL; and Mr. Ajay Garg, Stock Market Analyst.

 

The thrust of the session was on the current trends in the market, with particular stress on options available to the investor in the volatile market of today. The participants emphasized on the need to stay the course as far as investing in stock markets is concerned, as also the necessity of maintaining a positive outlook. Mr.Bhasin differentiated between the approaches of an investor, and a trader, the latter preferring to simply ‘play the market’. He pointed towards the need for looking at other investment options like realty, noting that perennial favorites like gold have lost their sheen. Mr.Ashar spoke of the need for a diversified strategy, as far as the investment portfolio was concerned. Mr. Garg dealt more with the technical aspects of investing.

 

The interesting session was followed by a lively Q&A session, where there was no dearth of thought provoking questions from the audience. It was a fruitful exercise which greatly benefitted all present, particularly the students.

Vaaswani (Director, INTEX Technologies (India) Ltd, Dr. M.P. Poonia, Vice Chairman, AICTE, New Delhi, Dr. Prabhat Kumar (Guest of Honour), IRS (Retd.), Former Commissioner of Customs & Excise, Mr. Amit Agarwal, President, GMA & Deputy Managing Director, Ghaziabad Precision Product Ltd, Mr Dharmendra Singh, Hony. Secretary GMA & GM Plant Operations, Shriram Pistons & Ring Ltd.

I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad was one of the major contributors to the GMA 29th Annual Convention as GOLD SPONSOR. I.T.S students served as volunteers at the convention and were highly active throughout the convention. The sponsor’s contribution was acknowledged with the sharing of Mementos. Dr. Ajay Kumar (Director- Management) and Dr. VN Bajpai received the memento from the Chief Guest.

The Technical Session- I was on the topic: Preparing & Retaining Talent / Skill. The Technical Session-II had the very first speaker as Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director Management. He spoke about the challenges for industry/ service sector because of automation & digitalization.

The Valedictory session was with the topic: Public Policy for inclusive development in era of automation & digitalization. Ms. Bhavna Saxena, IPS. SPL Commissioner, APEDB, spoke about the public policy on automation & digitalisation. During the end of the convention, a “Lucky Coupon Draw”, was undertaken and Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director Management was lucky enough to receive a laptop out of the total participants available.

Dr. Vivek Pachuri, Faculty of Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad, CO - Chaired ,Technical session in HR in a National conference organized at BVM Institute Gwalior on 12th Jan 2019 M. P. Affiliated Jiwaji university Gwalior M. P.  The topic of conference was "Human capital challenges in current scenario." Research Papers were presented by the delegates in conference.  It was indeed a Co-Learning to see the paper presentation and sharing insight and inspiration with each other. Management of I.T.S Ghaziabad and Director Management-Dr. Ajay Kumar supported and motivated Dr. Pachuri of this opportunity of learning.

Students of MBA-IIyr participated in United States India Educational Foundation (USIEF) Alumini Fair

Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad organized visit in United States India Educational Foundation (USIEF) Alumini Fair 2019 on Sunday 06th, 2019 at USIEF, New Delhialong with two faculties, Dr. Namita Dixit and Dr. Sanjeev Tandon. USIEF promotes mutual understanding between the Nationals of India and US through educational exchange of scholars, professionals and Students. It's services includes granting scholarships and grants in almost all academic discipline, advising Indian students on higher educational and job opportunities, fellowship support and academic dialogue between both the countries. 

Students got insights to the future development and meticulous strategic planning to explore viable ways of future course of action.

Students met Alumini from around 80 + US university including university of Illinois, Springfield, university of South Florida(USF) , Miami University,Oxford Ohio, The University of Texas at Arlington, Rutgers University, New Brunswick, Ohio State University, Syracuse University in Florence, Madrid and Strasbourg, Bentley University MA, University of Alabama, University of South California, University of Wisconsin -La Crosse among many others.

This was a very informative for students.

India Dialogues Conclave- 2019

Students of PGDM along with two faculty members, Dr. Lalit Kumar Sharma & Dr. Surendra Tiwari, I.T.S - Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad participated in “India Dialogues Conclave, 2019” on 06th January, 2019 at Hotel Shangri-la, New Delhi. 

The conclave shared the Indian Government vision for progress and prosperity. Main guests and members of parliament in conclave who shared the Government’s vision were Mr.Anurag Thakur, Dr. Satyapal Singh, Mr. Varun Gandhi, Mr. Vijay Goel, Mr. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Mr.Babul Supriyo, Mr. K.C Tyagi, Mr. Baijayant Jai Panda.

The conclave's important areas of the discussion included Surgical Strike, Rural India manifesto, India ahead and social media. 
List of guests also included many important people from indian politics, policy makers, journalists and academicians.

Faculty of Department of Management attended SHRM India National Public Enterprises Conference

Dr. D.K. Pandey and Dr. Charu Chaudhry, Faculty of Management Department at I.T.S, Ghaziabad attended SHRM India National Public Enterprises Conference on 18th December, 2018 at the SCOPE Complex, New Delhi. The theme for SHRMPEC 2018 was 'Unite to Ignite'.The objective of conference was to bring together diverse elements of business, strategy, and people, to harnesses the power of unity and thus redefining the future of HR in public enterprises.

The conference commenced with an interesting panel discussion on ‘New Challenges of leadership in the Emerging Business Environment’ highlighting the dynamic business environment and direct competition of Public organizations  with agile Private Organizations . Mr. Suresh Sethi, MD & CEO, India Post Payments Bank discussed about Igniting Transformational Change. In this session, he shared insights on how to drive change at a transformational level in the organization with an example of Indian post office system. Mr. Prithvi Shergill Advisory Partner, Tomorrow/Smarten Spaces & Former CHRO – HCL deliberated on role of talent analytics in HR and its implementation in PSEs. A panel on Future Ready PSE Leaders explored into what attributes leaders must have, to be Future Ready. Mr. Stephane Michelin, Chief Executive Officer, Sodexo Benefits and Rewards Services, India,  elaborated the relevance of new-age employee benefits in the digital world to keep a highly motivated and productive workforce. Panel discussions also delved into strategies to engage and motivate employees and how to utilize CSR funds for the growth of a new India by 2022. Ms. Garima Garg, Director, Deloitte India shared insights on the future of work and HRs changing role. Mr.D.D Misra, President, "Janm" Trust and Former Director HR, ONGC, had drawn very interesting insights from Indian Mythology, the Ramcharitmanas, focusing on the three attributes of God Hanuman to create learning for employees. Conference also witnessed the launch of ‘A Stranger Truth', book by Ashok Alexander, Founder-Director of ‘The Antara Foundation’. He is the man who led the India office of ‘Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’ from its inception in 2003, until 2012 and created Avahan, which became the best ever private prevention program in HIV, and a model of scaling up health delivery.

In nutshell, the conference was an eye opener on various dimensions of HR as well as PSEs challenges & perspective related to workforce, HR strategies and expectations of all stakeholders including government as one of the key player.
