Dr. RichaN. Agarwal attended FDP on the topic “Research Methodology For Indian Thought in Management”

Dr. Richa N. Agarwal, Faculty of I.T.S School of Management, Ghaziabad participated in Faculty Development Programme on topic “Research Methodology for Indian Thought in Management “organized by MDI, Gurugram on January 09 -10, 2024.

 

The FDP was planned for two days. The resource person for the FDP was   Prof. Dharam P S Bhawuk, Professor of Management and Culture and Community Psychology University of Hawaii at Manoa, Honolulu, Hawaii US. In the first session, the resource person talked about Western Approaches and Indian Approaches and how Indian thoughts are evolving in Management. The session explained how our culture shapes behaviour . The importance of language was also emphasized.  It was also emphasized that there is a difference in thought when we do management emerging from Indian Thoughts. Many concepts related to Management , leadership and power were discussed which were inspired from Indian Thoughts. Second Day the session focussed on how can we take thoughts from Gita , Upanishads , Puranas and develop new management thoughts. Session explained how to integrate psychology with philosophy.

The session also deliberated on Indian Positive Psychology and Western Positive Psychology and their application in Management. The FDP was unique , relevant and enlightening.

Research Paper Presentation at Nirma University, Ahemdabad, Gujrat

Prof. Ashutosh Sharma, Assistant Professor at I.T.S School of Management, Ghaziabad participated & presented a research paper titled “A comparative study of factors influence the price of gold in International Market” in 27th Nirma International Conference on Management (NICOM-2024), on the topic – “Business in Uncertain Times: Strategies and Capabilities to Manage Disruption and Growth”  organized by Institute of Management in Nirma University, Ahemdabad, Gujrat, India on 4th - 6th  January, 2024.
 

Also, abstract published in the proceedings of this International Conference.

It was a great learning experience for Mr. Ashutosh Sharma.

Dr. Ritu Saxena attended Webinar on Knowledge Sharing Session “Future of Jobs”

Dr. Ritu Saxena, Assistant Professor at I.T.S School of Management, PGDM, actively participated in a knowledge-sharing webinar on the "Future of Jobs" organized by AIMS on 3rd January 2024. The event featured Mr. Vasant Kamble, AGM-HR at SUMEX, and Mr. Shameer S, Founder of CogniQuo, a startup, as the distinguished resource persons.

 

Mr. Kamble initiated the session by providing valuable insights into the evolving employment landscape, emerging job trends, and the impact of technological advancements on various industries. He shared highlights from the McKinsey Global Institute report, focusing on the potential impact of AI on the job market in the US. Delving into the transformative effects of technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and automation, Mr. Kamble underscored the need for upskilling and reskilling to navigate the changing job market successfully.

After that Mr.Kamble shifted the focus towards the importance of soft skills and emotional intelligence in the workplace. He emphasized that while technical skills are undeniably crucial, the ability to collaborate, communicate effectively, and adapt to change will play a pivotal role in shaping the future job landscape. Additionally, Mr. Shameer explored the growing trend of remote work and discussed tools and strategies essential for individuals and organizations to thrive in a distributed work environment. Insights were shared on maintaining productivity and fostering team cohesion in virtual settings.

The Knowledge Sharing Session on the Future of Jobs provided valuable insights into the rapidly changing employment landscape. The event addressed key trends, challenges, and opportunities, contributing to the ongoing conversation about preparing the workforce for the jobs of tomorrow.

at Jacaranda Hall, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi on the focused agenda “BFSIat the Next Milestone of Growth, Disruption and Innovation” The event focused on many areas like crucial role of BFSI in banking operation.

The event inaugural session began with the welcome address by Mr. Bipin Preet Singh summit chairman and Co-founder & CEO Mobi Kwik followed by theme address and special address by Mr. Vishesh  C Chandiok, Chairman Regional  Committee on economic Affairs and Taxation & CEO ,Grant Thornton Bharat LLP , Mr. Shantanu Pendsey ,Chief General Manager ,State Bank of India .The special plenary on BFSI at the next Milestone of Growth ,disruption  and Innovation focused on the main challenges and opportunities that the BFSI sector is facing as it heads towards its next stage of development .For more insights into the themes the summit continues with different cutting edge panel discussions with following key points

Management students and Faculty attended Global Bio India - 2023

The Students of PGDM (2023-25) batch along with faculty members of I.T.S. School of Management,  Dr. Richa Agarwal and Dr. Rajeev Johari participated in the "Global Bio-India 2023 Event"  held at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi by Department of Biotechnology, Government of India on December 6, 2023.

 

The event featured a diverse range of sessions that ran concurrently through panelists as:

1. Food and Energy through Biological Manufacturing

2. India-Germany Startup Connect

3. Advancing Biologics Product Development from PoC to Pilot

4. National and Global Regulatory Trends Shaping the Future of BioTech and MedTech Innovation

5. Space Exploration

The participants were exposed to a wealth of knowledge and insights during the event. The sessions covered various topics such as the utilization of biological manufacturing for food and energy, India-Germany startup collaborations, advancements in biologics product development, and regulatory trends shaping the future of BioTech and MedTech innovation. PGDM students attended Aap Ki Adalat at INDIA TV Studio.

The budding managers of I.T.S School of Management, Ghaziabad (PGDM 2023-25 Batch) along with Dr. Ritu Saxena and Prof. Ashutosh Sharma attended “Aap ki Adalat” a famous show of INDIA TV news channel on 30th November, 2023.

Indian Rapper & Singer “Badshah” was the guest of the show “Aap Ki Adalat” where India TV Editor-in-Chief and Chairman Rajat Sharma asked many critical questions to Badshah. He poses challenging questions to Badshah, who enjoys massive popularity among fans, and will be making some serious and big revelations about his personal and professional life on the show.

He also discussed about his latest song “Jawab”, Badshah sang few lines of his new song too.

Students asked to Badshah that, how he handles his stardom? Badshah said; we never should proud of our own work, because behind success of every person there are lot of people like; family & friends, those have supported you and helped you to become what you are today. Therefore we always should be thankful and polite to others, which will help us to digest all kind of stardom or Success.

PGDM students participated in IIC - REGIONAL MEET 2023

On 23rd November 2023, on the behalf of Institute of Technology and Science, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad, Dr. Rajeev Johari along with Shivam Singh and Sanskar Jaishwal students of the PGDM program (2023-25), actively participated in the IIC REGIONAL MEET 2023, Noida, organized by Ministry of Education’ Innovation Cell and All India Council for Technical Education and felicitated by Amity University..

It was the yearly meet of all the IIC affiliated Incubation Centres of Delhi NCR and West UP. The event started with Inauguration Session and Demonstration of Innovations by YUKTI Innovations/Startup, KARTAVYABODH & Interactive Sessions and UDYAMI BAZAR (Entrepreneurs’ Market) and Display of IIC Posters.

The inaugural session had addressed by Mr. Dipan Sahu, Asst. Innovation Director, MIC, followed by Dr. Jitendra Kumar, Managing Director, BIRAC, Prof. T.G. Sitharam, Chairman AICTE, Mr. Manoj Govil, Secretary, and Ministry of Corporate Affairs.

There were three parallel sessions during the event in which the first was based on INNOVATION- Round Table Discussion in which several panelists shared their thoughts about the startups and innovations. The second was based on a Knowledge Sharing Session by IIC Institutions while the third was based on YUKTI Innovation Challenge nominated innovators and early stage startup founders in which many panelists shared their own startup journey and motivational key points. Mr. Gautaam Jha, founder and CEO of Ventor Minds focused on By Using PR to build Brand Equity for Innovators, Mr. Shubham Prajapati and Mr. Arush Bartaria, NIC 2020 winner talked about ‘Idea to Product and Product to Startup’. Ms. Khushbu Verma, Senior Investment Specialist, Startup India discussed on “What makes a Startup Investable”.

A one-to-one mentoring cum pitching session was conducted with several jury members from corporate and industry discussing the queries of students and motivating them to create some new thoughts. They also discussed with students the problems that are faced by innovators.

The event was a platform for encouraging entrepreneurship, innovation, and the spirit of problem-solving on a global scale among India's youth.IIC elucidated the role of Indian Youth in the Indian startup ecosystem, discussing strategies to foster entrepreneurship and creating a supportive ecosystem.

Speaker at inaugural ceremony in the 3rd International Conference by IEOM

Dr. Timira Shukla, Professor & Director,  I.T.S School of Management, Ghaziabad was invited by IEOM as a speaker in the inaugural ceremony in the 3rd Indian International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management in New Delhi, November 2-4, 2023

 

The inaugural session commenced with opening remarks by Conference Chair Prof. Abid Ali Khan, Aligarh Muslim University and Conference co-chair Prof. Qutubuddin S.M, Associate Professor of Industrial and Production Engineering at PDA College of Engineering, Gulbarga & Director IEOM Operations in India. They discussed about the journey of IEOM Society and the trends in the field of Industrial Engineering and Operations Management.

Dr. Ahad Ali, Conference Co-Chair; Director ofIndustrial Engineering Program; Lawrence Tech University, MI, USA and Executive Director, IEOM Society also welcomed the speakers, panelists and presenters. The other speakers included Prof. Dr. DK Banwet, FIE, Former Head DMS, IIT Delhi, Conference co-chair Dr. Seema Singh, Professor of Economics at Delhi Technological University, Delhi, India, Dr. Maffan Badar, Professor; Indiana State University USA, Dr. M Muzammil, Professor AMU , Cdr. Dr. Bhaskar Bhandarkar, Director General Institution for  IIEE, Muand Dr. Timira Shukla, Professor & Director I.T.S  School of Management, Ghaziabad. The speakers spoke on the inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary aspects of how industrial engineering has laid the foundation for Operations Management stream. The technological integration, flexibility and agility coupled with issues of sustainability were addressed by the speakers.

The key-note session followed was addressed by:

·         Dr. Christopher Harris, Associate Professor of Computer Science, University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, Colorado, United States. He discussed about the role of Chat GPT in demand forecasting, quality control and supply-chain optimisation.

·         Mr. Harjinder Singh Cheema, Managing Director, Cheema BoilersLimited, Chandigarh, India. He shared interesting and engaging videos on innovation and shared his journey from being a marine engineer to an entrepreneur.

The panel speakers for the session on ‘Women in Industry and Academia’ saw presentations by Dr. Seema Singh and  Prof. Dr. LEONG WaiYie, Vice President of International Network of Women Engineers and Scientists (INWES), Deputy Vice Chair of World Federation of Engineering Organisation (Women in Engineering Committee).

This was followed by research paper presentations by research scholars and students in various concurrent sessions.
