The speaker Mr. Kedar Kumar familiarized students how to use Capitaline database website procedure. Then he gave a brief note on the information available on the platform. He said there were 57000 companies worldwide, 322 industries,82 sectors and 500+ business houses available. Then he illustrated ACC Ltd. company to the student and showed financials like journals, ledgers, equity statement, cashflow, ratios of the company and taught how to analyze these data and how to make use of these data in their projects and assignments. He further explained how organizations like CRISIL, ICRA, CBRE, DELLOITE used Capitaline data to supervise their customers. He highlighted the importance of corporate governance and annual year performance of the company.

He ended the workshop by giving students all the knowledge about the financials of various companies and how to create insights for their assignments.

Towards the conclusion of workshop, he welcomed question from students and answered them compressively.

Mr. Sanjay Rajan mainly focused on term “Awareness.” Then he introduced his websites “PROQUEST” which is an e-book platform where students can access E-Books related to management and other fields. Then he explained the procedure of login in the websites and shared how learners can increase their level of information. Students can use this website for reading journals, citation, magazines, and research paper and enhance their learning. He further said that there is current affair column also available where students can update themselves. Then he also shared an interested examples from Indian mythological Mahabharat character where he talked about learnings of KARNA and ARJUNA which interested students a lot.

Towards the conclusion of the workshop, he welcomed intriguing questions from students and answered them comprehensively.

Mr. Lakhpat Singh shared his views about qualitative and authentic literature reviews, summaries, articles, journals, citation and other reading material which is available on EBSCO websites. He explained how students related to different managerial fields can enhance their knowledge by reading quality material available on the websites. He explained how the EBSCO helps students to write research papers, citations, dissertations. He further explained the importance of authentic data backed by government websites and trustworthy resources in research. He ended the session with giving beautiful insight   to students how one can use, process and register in EBSCO websites and use it effectively and efficiently.

The workshop ended with immense knowledge on E-Books and Research related material and how EBSCO helped learners to read books related to different areas.

The resource person of the workshop was Mr. Kapil Kalra, CFA, Senior Vice President, Finance & Head-Real Estate Investments - Save Max Toronto, Canada. He has a rich 17 + years of experience in diversified C&IB (focusing on Infrastructure Project Financing) across different critical verticals of wholesale banking.

The workshop started with motivational words by Dr. Anusha Agarwal, Chairperson PGDM. She highlighted the importance of financial modeling in today’s scenario.

The speaker started with the introduction to the basics of Financial Modeling widely used in Excel. The students were also briefed on the importance of Modeling and its future implication.

The speaker demonstrated how to do modeling of a Solar Plant Project from scratch and gave some real-time scenarios to build financial models. He further deliberated on the Fundamentals of Financial Modeling, and how to implement MS-Excel. He elaborated on assumptions in Financial Modeling as per industry aspects, interpretation of output from the model and the also explained regarding presenting the results from financial modeling.

The workshop was very interactive as many questions were raised by the speaker to the students for better learning. He also took questions from the students and answered them satisfactorily. Towards the end of the workshop, the Virtual Plaque was presented to the Speaker as a token of gratitude and remembrance. The entire workshop was very informative & inspiring for the students.

I.T.S School of Management, Ghaziabad organized a workshop on “Business simulation BankStrat” on 19th September , 2022 for PGDM 2021-23 Batch. The resource person for the workshop was Mr. Debashish J Das, Co-founder, Humanlinks Learning.

PGDM Chairperson Dr. Anusha Agarwal  welcomed Mr. Debashish J Das with a plant sapling and highlighted the importance of Simulation exercise for Strategic Management.  This encapsulates the essence of Business Simulation. It is an immersive learning experience that allow the students to learning by doing.

The objective of Business Simulation is to enable the students to align business objectives with strategy. It help them improve their business acumen and business finance skills.

Workshop was about Bank Simulation. For every simulation there is an influence diagram which states that what variables impacts business decision. In the game 3 rounds were provided to students to design a bank strategy where they need to take decision as a part of senior management team to identify the key indicators and at the same time allocate the resources so that it should not exceed the given budget just like the normal business scenario where we have to achieve target.

Session was fruitful, knowledgeable and fun at the same time. During the session students raised many queries regarding the game which was handled effectively by the resource person. The session was coordinated by Prof. Kumar Biswas.

The workshop was conducted by Dr. Vivek Pachauri and Prof. Yachna Malhotra. The program started with the opening remarks by Prof. Yachna Malhotra in which she sensitized students on the need of value education and helped the students to understand the gaps in the current system of education in the society. Initially to get connected with the participants, a video was demonstrated so as to make students active listeners and generate their curiosity and explore various thoughts for the session.

Dr. Vivek Pachauri introduced the process of Self Exploration with the help of an activity and focused that how it can help in having the right understanding of one’s desires and goals in life. He also explained about the Holistic Development and Role of Education in Life and its application in solving the problems of life. The primary goal of the session was to give the exposure and understanding of how values give worthiness and respect to life.

At the end of session a real life video example was demonstrated to the students so as to make them understand that how a person who is not having the right understanding about self and is ignorant about the value system underperform at the individual level, at the level of family and finally fails at the society level. The session was a mix of both the slide show coupled with some interesting activities, to enrich the participants with need of value education and their holistic development. The Participants were over whelmed and enthusiastic with the outcomes of self-exploration exercise.

The objective of this SDP was to improve the day-to-day efficiency of Staff personnel by making them learn the various aspects of Interpersonal Communication, team dynamics and time management.

Dr. Shikha Arora and Prof. Yachna Malhotra speakers of the session conducted various innovative activities to train the staff on Interpersonal Effectiveness at Workplace.

The learning environment was highly interactive and resulted in deep routed team cohesiveness among the participants. Initially to get connected with the participants, an ice breaking session was conducted to get affiliated by introducing each other with sharing their feelings and disclosure of strengths and weaknesses so as to understand the different notions attached with Inter-personal communication.

The training was a mix of both the presentations coupled with some interesting activities to sensitize the staff members for giving effective and quality service in general and making their interactions with students more polite, clear and result oriented.

Different activities on Effective Listening, Team Building and Time Management, were conducted among the participants to make them understand and demonstrate the importance of managing time in both their personal and professional life and how effective listening can enhance our productivity while working in teams.

A total of 20 staff members participated enthusiastically and enjoyed the session. Participants were over whelmed with the outputs and experiences they had during the session.

The session turned out to be very interesting and enjoyable for the participants.

The eminent resource persons for FDP Prof. (Dr.) Prabhat Mittal, Professor – Commerce and Management, Saraswati College (E), University of Delhi and Prof. (Dr.) Pankaj Kumar Gupta, Director, Centre of Management Studies, Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi graced the inaugural session.

Shri  Surinder  Sood, Director (PR), I.T.S - The Education Group, highlighted  on the pitfalls of qualitative research. He explained that research in social sciences involves the consideration of a multitude of factors and elaborated on the evolution of technology in Data Sciences. 

The session began with the welcome address by the Director Prof. (Dr) Timira Shukla, who emphasized on the significance of data analysis for interdisciplinary research. Dr Anusha  Agarwal, Convener, provided an overview of the programme along with the deliverables.

Over the five days sessions were held delving into different elements of the FDP, which included scaling and sampling techniques; univariate and bivariate analysis; parametric and non-parametric tests; tests of hypotheses; ANOVA and MANOVA; correlation and regression; multiple and logistical regression analysis; and structural equation modeling.

On the final day group presentations were made by all the participants. Following this the valedictory session was held in the presence of Director Prof. (Dr) Timira Shukla, Convener Dr. Anusha Agarwal and resource person Prof. (Dr.) Prabhat Mittal.

The Director in her address in the valedictory session urged all the participants to upskill and write research papers. She lauded Dr. Prabhat for the training in each aspect of research methods and techniques and tools data analysis.  The individual attention to each and every participant for learning and practice   sessions deserves special mention. 

Dr. Prabhat Mittal quipped that it was not a valedictory session, but rather the inauguration of a new resolve towards research. Thanking the Director, he stated that there were many takeaways from the programme, and expressed appreciation for the patient learning from the side of the participants. He also went on to provide tips for successful publication of papers in leading journals.

The 5 – days FDP ended with distribution of certificate.
