‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme of Department of Management at Institute of Technology & Science, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organized a full class returned amidst the bright and comforting sunshine, we decided to go back to the basics with sessions on flora and fauna, and the BODMAS rule of Maths.
Atul flagged off the day with the discussion on plants and animals. Jhalak joined him as they started explaining the different features of each. They went on to discuss the various parts of plants and trees like branches, stem or trunk, roots, leaves, etc. The exercise was rounded off with the classification of organisms according to diet into herbivores, carnivores and omnivores. Several examples were provided to illustrate each type. The children joined in with gusto to respond to each and every topic of the session. The next session was more or less a Jhalak show as she went about explaining the intricacies of the well known BODMAS rule. The learners were of course up to the challenge as they vigorously contributed to the interaction, though they needed clarifications on a couple of items. Their understanding was then tested via a few examples conjured up by Jhalak. A quiz was also held to test the knowledge acquired in the earlier session, with those who answered correctly receiving a pack of biscuits each. The day came to an end with the distribution of ‘Britannia Good Day’ biscuits and ‘Parle Kachcha Aam’ toffees among the children. Dr. Indraneel Mandal accompanied and motivated the student volunteers. Prof. Lokesh Upreti planned the activity and guided the volunteers in the conduct of the programme, as the faculty coordinator of CSR Club - Parivartan.

Department of Management at I.T.S Mohan Nagar organized a visit of PG students to ZEE NEWS studio on 1st February, 2019 for participating in very famous show "KYA KEHTA HAI INDIA".
The theme of the discussion was “Are Prayers in Sanskrit at Central Schools Communal?” Distinguished speakers for debate were Acharya Vikram Motwani, Mrs. Monika Arora (Lawyer Supreme Court), Ms.Charu Pragya (Spokes Person BJP), Ms. Geeta Bhatt (Member RSS), Mr. Vivek Srivastava (Member CPIM) and Mr.Falai (Islamic Scholar). Outcome of discussion was that Sanskrit language does not make students communal. It is simply expressing the ways of becoming better human being.
The discussion was highly interactive and informative. The students felt highly motivated and enthusiastic after attending the program.
Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad organized visit of PGDM students to Zee News Program Taal Thoke Ke. This program was aired live after the Government of India has filed petition in the Hon’ble Supreme Court on the same day to allow the central government to return the acquired land of 67 acres except the disputed land of 0.313 Acres at Ayodhya to the owners of acquired land.
The debate was fierce in nature as the all political discourse and non-political discourse people put across their views. Zee News correspondents at Ayodhya and Prayagraj also joined the debate and shared the views of people present there. Students get exposed to the issues of Ram Mandir construction in Ayodhya., ,
Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad organized visit of PGDM First Year students for a session on “Money Mantra” at the PHDCCI headquarters in August Kranti margi, New Delhi on 29th January 2019.
The session comprised of a panel discussion involving Mr. Muralithar Swaminathan, Director, BTVI, who was also the moderator; Mr. Kalpesh Ashar, Founder, Full Circle Financial Planners and Advisers; Mr. Sanjiv Bhasin, EVP Markets and Corporate Affairs, IIFL; and Mr. Ajay Garg, Stock Market Analyst.
The thrust of the session was on the current trends in the market, with particular stress on options available to the investor in the volatile market of today. The participants emphasized on the need to stay the course as far as investing in stock markets is concerned, as also the necessity of maintaining a positive outlook. Mr.Bhasin differentiated between the approaches of an investor, and a trader, the latter preferring to simply ‘play the market’. He pointed towards the need for looking at other investment options like realty, noting that perennial favorites like gold have lost their sheen. Mr.Ashar spoke of the need for a diversified strategy, as far as the investment portfolio was concerned. Mr. Garg dealt more with the technical aspects of investing.
The interesting session was followed by a lively Q&A session, where there was no dearth of thought provoking questions from the audience. It was a fruitful exercise which greatly benefitted all present, particularly the students., , ,
Department of Management at I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organized Corporate Talk on the topic “Standardization in Management Systems” on 29th January 2019 for PGDM and MBA (2018-20) Batch. The guest speaker was Mr. Rakesh Chopra,Executive Director IT, RITES Ltd.
He shared his experiences in the field of quality assurance, transaction advisory services, Management Systems and Administration.He emphasized the ever-increasing demand for the development and implementation of effective Management Systems (MS) in the areas of quality, environmental, safety, food and corporate social responsibility. He explained how the importance of standardization in management systems has resulted in the proliferation of generic standards. He addressed in detail the issue of methodology for the integration of internal, function-specific and standardized management systems. Specifically, the "ingredients' (which elements to integrate) and the "recipe' (how to integrate them). He has given his insight about the demands of managing in aninternational operating environment changed considerable over the past decade in an increasing number of industries with benefits of exploiting global economies of scale and scope enhanced the need of integration and coordination of activities. Ms. Chopra explained in detail about the various attributes of standardization and their importance in various management systems. Utthan, A CSR initiative of Department of Management at I.T.S, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organized "Republic Day Special" Session and MS Power Point learning session for the students on 28th January, 2019. Student volunteers taught the importance of celebrating Republic Day in India and its history.
In the first session of the activity, Students were taken to Computer Lab 5 and Lab 7 to learn working on MS Power Point. In computer labs, participants were taught about the basic use of Power Point by the Student Volunteers of ITS College. In this session, they learned to open a new file, adding new slides, different kinds of slides, how to name a file, inserting pictures, shapes, etc in the power point presentation. Then they were asked to prepare a Presentation on Republic Day. After that, they were taken back to the Seminar Hall.
In the Second Session of the event, students presented their views on the presentations they prepared for Republic Day. Also, children sang patriotic songs, poems and performed dance on patriotic songs. More than 60 students participated in this activity. They all were very enthusiastic for their performance. Best performed children were given prizes and gifts. Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director (Management) felicitated the event by distributing Prizes to all the winners of the activity. ‘Parivartan’ – The Slum Education Programme of Department of Management at Institute of Technology & Science, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad organized two important activities on 27th January 2019. One was the just concluded 70th Republic Day of the nation. The other was the National Girl Child Day (24th January). The IB Club of ITS had come over to join Parivartan for the latter.
The day started off with Prof. Lokesh Upreti explaining to children the significance of observing the National Girl Child Day. He spoke on why it was necessary to treat boys and girls as equals. He also made the children aware about how education, health and safety of girls helps the country as a whole. Then, one by one, the volunteers highlighted three recent national female icons. Jyoti talked about the late astronaut Kalpnan Chawla; Tarique held stage on the Commonwealth Games champion Geeta Phogat; and Chetan described the exploits of boxing queen Mary Kom.
Next Mansi came forward for the other part of the day’s programme, as she quizzed the children on their knowledge of occasions like Independence Day and Republic Day. Those who answered correctly were rewarded with ‘Cadbury’s Dairy Milk’ chocolates. Mansi continued by discussing the events that went into the drafting of the first Constitution of independent India. She also related a story about how Bhagat Singh developed into the great freedom fighter that we are proud of.A quiz was then held to test all that the children learnt during the day. Those who answered correctly were given toffees. Balloons in national colors and flags were also distributed among the learners to mark the celebration of the day. The day concluded with the distribution of laddoos, packets of ‘Krax Curls’ and ‘Kismi Bite’ toffees among the children. Dr. Indraneel Mandal accompanied and motivated the student volunteers. Prof. Lokesh Upreti guided the volunteers in the conduct of the programme as the faculty coordinator of CSR Club - Parivartan.
Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad organized "Hostel Eve" on 25th January, 2019 for Durga halls and Eklavya halls. Event was graced by girl’s hostel warden Ms. Kesh Bala and boy’s hostel warden Mr. P.S. Tomar.
The students of both the hostels showed their exemplary talent and performed really well. The show started with the greetings to Maa Saraswati. It was then the moment to spread the light on the lives of hostelers which was done by Ms. Priya Bharadwaj. The show was taken further by students of UG, PGDM and MBA with their dance moves and their singing skills. The show was ended with a beautiful poem written by Mr. Rohit. In the end Awards were distributed to best performer boy’s hostel i.e. rapper Abhishek and best performer girl’s hostel Shakshi Gupta.
After the show there was a DJ ready to groove the students with its beats. The night ended with delicious food and a lot of good memories., , ,
Faculty of Department of Management at I.T.S Ghaziabad, Dr. Lalit Kumar Sharma conducted a Faculty Development Program on 25th January, 2019 in NIESBUD, Noida. The theme of the program was Importance of Research and Conducting Survey. Total 22 Faculties from different states participated in the program.
The objective of the program was to develop the understanding about importance of Research in business. Program has covered the concept of Marketing information System, Scaling Techniques and Developing Questionnaire. Various techniques of data collection were discussed. Participants have discussed the challenges in data collection for the business. Alternatives were developed for such challenges. All participants had great enthusiasm for learning.
